Michael Fassbender is an Irish-German actor and racing driver. He is the recipient of various accolades, including nominations for two Academy Awards, four BAFTA Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards. In addition to these recognitions, Fassbender has also been awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actor for his role in "Shame," and has received multiple nominations and awards from film critic groups across the world. For his portrayal as a sex addict in Steve McQueen's drama "Shame," he won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor and was nominated for Golden Globe and BAFTA Award. For his role as slave owner Edwin Epps in "12 Years a Slave" and as the title role in "Steve Jobs," he earned nominations for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor. In addition to these performances, Fassbender has also starred in "Macbeth," "The Light Between Oceans," and the film adaptation of the video game "Assassin's Creed." He co-produced and starred in "The Snowman," released in October 2017. After a brief hiatus, Fassbender returned to film acting in 2023 with a role in David Fincher's "The Killer," which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival.
Fassbender began competing in auto racing in 2017 with the Ferrari Challenge. As of 2023, he races in the European Le Mans Series, driving for Proton Competition. His involvement in motorsports goes beyond racing, as he has also participated in the European Le Mans Series full season in 2020 and pursued a road to Le Mans with Porsche in 2019. In recent years, Fassbender has also expanded his career into producing, helping to executive produce "The Kitchen," a dystopian drama for Netflix. Furthermore, he is set to appear in upcoming films such as "The Agency" and the Korean thriller "Hope," and has been cast in the feature film adaptation of "Kung Fury."
