Matthew Fox

Matthew Fox is an actor known for his work in television and film, with a career spanning more than three decades. Fox studied economics and played football at Columbia University before shifting his focus to acting. He trained at The School for Film and Television in New York City and began his acting career with commercials and a guest role on the TV show "Wings," followed by a featured role on "Freshman Dorm."

Fox gained recognition for his performances in two major television series. He portrayed Charlie Salinger, the family patriarch, on Fox's family drama "Party of Five," and later played Dr. Jack Shephard, a central character among plane crash survivors, on ABC's adventure drama "Lost." "Party of Five" received the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama. Fox's role as Dr. Jack Shephard on "Lost" earned him Saturn Awards, a Golden Globe nomination, a shared Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.

During his time on "Lost," Fox appeared in several films, including "Smokin' Aces," "We Are Marshall," "Speed Racer," and "Vantage Point." He later focused on film projects such as the period drama "Emperor," where he played General Bonner Fellers, and the thriller "Alex Cross," in which he portrayed the antagonist Picasso. Fox also acted in the Western "Bone Tomahawk" and the science fiction film "Extinction," and performed on stage in London's West End.

Fox returned to television with Peacock's limited series "Last Light," an adaptation of Alex Scarrow's apocalyptic novel. In addition to acting, he served as executive producer on the project. He also starred in Taylor Sheridan's "The Madison." Fox is recognized for his roles in drama series, adventure television, and feature films, and has spoken about his renewed interest in acting and selecting projects that align with his career goals.
