Marcello Hernandez

Marcello Hernández is a Cuban-Dominican American comedian, actor, and writer known for his work in stand-up comedy, television, and sketch writing. Hernández began his stand-up career at 18, performing in various venues and opening for comedians such as Tim Dillon, Jim Breuer, and Gilbert Gottfried. After developing his craft on the New York City club circuit, he became a regular on the city's comedy scene and was selected as a Just for Laughs New Face of Comedy in Montreal, an honor for emerging comedians.

Hernández joined the cast of the NBC sketch comedy series "Saturday Night Live," becoming one of the show's first Gen Z cast members and only the fourth Latino featured player in the show's history. He was promoted to repertory status at the start of the show's 50th season. Hernández is recognized for recurring characters including Domingo, The Movie Guy on Weekend Update, and Joaquín Antonio González Hernández Suárez, host of "The Immigrant Dad Talk Show."

He is the first cast member to introduce Spanish-language sketches to "Saturday Night Live," drawing on his experience growing up Latino in Miami. His comedic perspective is evident in sketches he performs and writes, including those for Spanish-speaking guests such as Bad Bunny and Ana de Armas. In one notable sketch, Hernández portrayed Don Francisco in a parody of the Spanish-language show "Sábado Gigante," which received praise from Francisco himself. He has also portrayed Sebastian Maniscalco in an SNL parody, earning positive feedback from Maniscalco.

Hernández released his first stand-up special, "American Boy," on Netflix. In 2026, he was announced as the host of The ESPYS, which celebrates achievements and moments in sports. With a Netflix special, a high-profile hosting role, and multiple seasons on "Saturday Night Live," Hernández has established himself in the comedy and entertainment industry, contributing to Latino representation and Gen Z perspectives in mainstream media.
