Leo Woodall

Leo Woodall is an English actor known for his work in television and film. Woodall comes from a family with a background in the performing arts; his father, Andrew Woodall, is an actor, and his parents met at drama school. Inspired to pursue acting after watching Cillian Murphy's performance in "Peaky Blinders" at age 19, Woodall trained formally and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Acting from Arts Educational School. He began his professional career with a guest role on the BBC medical drama "Holby City" and appeared in the Russo Brothers' feature film "Cherry."

Woodall gained wider recognition as a main cast member in HBO's anthology series "The White Lotus" during its second season, set in Sicily. Portraying Jack, a young man from Essex, Woodall prepared for the role by researching regional accents, including watching videos of TV personality Joey Essex. His performance contributed to the ensemble's Screen Actors Guild Award win and led to his inclusion as a Screen International Star of Tomorrow.

Woodall played his first lead role as Dexter Mayhew in Netflix's romantic drama miniseries "One Day," an adaptation of David Nicholls's novel. Starring opposite Ambika Mod, his performance received positive critical attention. He continued to expand his filmography with roles in the Apple TV+ conspiracy thriller series "Prime Target," the franchise film "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy," the World War II drama "Nuremberg," and the Prime Video series "Vladimir."

In the crime thriller "Tuner," Woodall portrays Niki, a piano tuner with a rare hearing condition who uses his heightened sensitivity to sound to crack safes, starring alongside Dustin Hoffman. The film premiered at Telluride Film Festival and received a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Woodall was nominated for Best Actor in a Canadian Film at the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Awards for his role in "Tuner." He is also known for his role as Halvard in "The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum."
