Harvey Levin

Harvey Levin is a television producer, legal analyst, journalist, and former attorney recognized for his significant impact on entertainment journalism and media law. Levin practiced law in California for two decades and taught at institutions including University of Miami School of Law and Whittier College School of Law. He gained public attention through debates with Howard Jarvis regarding Proposition 13, California's property tax-reduction measure, which Levin opposed. This exposure led to his role as a legal commentator on radio, where he was known as Doctor Law, and as a columnist for Los Angeles Times.

Levin reported on legal issues for KNBC-TV before joining KCBS-TV, where he spent 10 years as an investigative reporter and legal analyst, notably covering the O.J. Simpson murder case. His work in legal analysis and investigative reporting led to opportunities in television production, including the revival of "The People's Court," for which he served as producer and received multiple Emmy nominations. TMZ became known for breaking major stories, including Mel Gibson's DUI arrest, the abuse case involving Rihanna and Chris Brown, and the deaths of Heath Ledger, Brittany Murphy, Michael Jackson, and Kobe Bryant. Los Angeles Times recognized TMZ's coverage of Michael Jackson's death as a landmark in entertainment news reporting. Levin also launched "TMZ on TV," a weekday news program summarizing major entertainment stories.

Beyond TMZ, Levin hosted "OBJECTified" on Fox News Channel, interviewing public figures about their lives through personal objects, and contributed to documentaries expanding TMZ's reach. He has received nine Emmy nominations for his work in broadcast journalism.
