Nico Santos Biography
Nico Santos is an actor and comedian known for his sarcastic wit, snarky commentary and charismatic performances. He starred as Mateo Liwanag on NBC’s hit comedy “Superstore,” earning a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He can also be seen in Netflix’s “Happiness for Beginners” and Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”
Santos appeared in Warner Brothers’ “Crazy Rich Asians” alongside Constance Wu, Henry Golding and Ken Jeong, a film that became a cultural phenomenon and one of the highest-grossing romantic comedies of the past decade. Born and raised in the Philippines, he moved to the United States at 16 and began performing stand-up comedy in San Francisco, quickly becoming a fixture in the Bay Area comedy scene.
He has written for E! Network’s “Fashion Police” and appeared on shows including Showtime’s “Pride Comedy Jam,” “Ground Floor,” “Mulaney” and “2 Broke Girls.” His film credits include “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2” and “The Clapper,” co-starring Ed Helms, Tracy Morgan and Amanda Seyfried. Santos was also a regular panelist on “Chelsea Lately.”
