Billy Crudup

Billy Crudup is an actor whose career spans more than three decades across film, television, and theater, earning recognition in the entertainment industry. Crudup attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, and later completed a Master of Fine Arts at the Graduate Acting Program at Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Within a year of graduating, Crudup began performing on Broadway, appearing in Tom Stoppard's "Arcadia," for which he won the Outer Critics Circle outstanding newcomer award.

Crudup's film career includes leading roles in "Without Limits," portraying long-distance runner Steve Prefontaine, and in Cameron Crowe's "Almost Famous." He has appeared in films such as "Big Fish," "Mission: Impossible III," "Watchmen," "Public Enemies," "The Stanford Prison Experiment," "Jackie," and "Alien: Covenant." Crudup also appeared in "Spotlight," which won the Academy Award for Best Picture and earned him the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

On stage, Crudup is a four-time Tony Award nominee and won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in Tom Stoppard's "The Coast of Utopia." He received Tony Award nominations for his roles in "The Elephant Man" and "The Pillowman." Crudup starred in Lincoln Center Theater's production of Ibsen's "Ghosts" and performed in the one-man play "Harry Clarke" at the Ambassadors Theatre in London's West End, earning an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor. He first performed "Harry Clarke" at the Vineyard Theatre, receiving multiple awards including the Outer Critics Circle Award, Off-Broadway Alliance Award, Lucille Lortel Award, Drama Desk Award, and Obie Award.

On television, Crudup portrays Cory Ellison on the Apple TV+ drama "The Morning Show," a series centered on the production of a fictional morning news program. His performance earned two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and two Critics' Choice Television Awards. Crudup also starred in the Apple TV+ science fiction series "Hello Tomorrow!" as a salesman of lunar timeshares and served as a producer. He appeared in the film "Jay Kelly," which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and screened at Telluride and New York Film Festivals.
