Laurie Metcalf

Laurie Metcalf is an actress known for her extensive work across theater, film, and television. Metcalf began her professional career at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where she was a charter member. Her early stage work included an Off-Broadway Steppenwolf production of "Balm in Gilead" at Circle Repertory, earning her the Obie Award for Best Actress and a Theatre World Award for best debut in a Broadway or Off-Broadway performance. This performance led to supporting roles in films such as "Desperately Seeking Susan" and "Making Mr. Right."

Metcalf gained national recognition for her role as Jackie Harris in the ABC sitcom "Roseanne," appearing alongside Roseanne Barr and John Goodman.
