John Higginson Biography

John joined Enova as Chief Technology Officer in 2014. Previously, he served as CTO of Wheels, Inc., where he managed a team of 150 technology professionals and led the development of Wheels’ comprehensive suite of Web applications. He has also worked at FTD Companies, Inc., and Applied Systems, Inc. John holds a BA from Northern Illinois University and an MS in Information Technology and Privacy Law from the John Marshall Law School. Outside of work, he serves as an MBA Executive Advisory Board member at Lewis University. John lives in Chicago with his two labradors and his large collection of electronic gadgets that “were so cool he just had to have them.”

CTO, CIO, senior technologist. Started career as a software developer and development manager. Became EVP of Technology for Applied Systems, a privately-held software development and services company, in 1997 where we built the first cloud solution and real-time trading systems for the insurance industry. Successfully sold the company for more than 16x EBITDA.

Moved to FTD Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: FTD) in 2006 as EVP, Chief Technology Officer. FTD is a US$ 627M (2013 revenue) company offering flowers and gifts through eCommerce sites and a network of florists in North America, the U.K. and Ireland. FTD technology has has enabled the business to run one of the most heavily trafficked gift sites on the Web, offers products through social commerce and a floral trading system that handles millions of transactions each year. As CTO led the transition of FTD's web properties from a 3rd-party to being developed and hosted internally, the launch of the best-selling POS systems in the floral industry, and the technology changes required to effect the spin-off from FTD's parent company in 2013.

Served as Chief Technology Officer of Wheels, Inc. Wheels is a US$1.6B privately-held company that provides technology-enabled services for Fortune 1000 companies to manage their vehicle fleets. Wheels technology -- everything from Web and mobile apps to an extensive vendor network -- is used to care for 1.3M vehicles world-wide and handles more than 40M transactions annually.

Currently serve as the Chief Technology Officer at Enova International, Inc (NYSE: ENVA).
