David Cork Biography
David Cork is the author of the book The Pig and the Python: How to prosper from the aging baby boom, which has been billed by the Globe and Mail as The Wealthy Barber meets Boom, Bust and Echo. On October 26th, 1996 The Pig and the Python hit number one on the Toronto Stars best sellers list and remained a best seller for a total of 38 weeks. When the results came in for 1997, Davids book was the sixth best selling non-fiction book in Canada that year no small feat! In 1998, an Americanized version of his book became available for purchase in the United States. In 1999, the highly anticipated sequel, When the Pig goes to Market, was released. A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, where he obtained a joint degree in Business and Political Science, David joined ScotiaMcLeod in 1984. For the past several years, David has been actively researching the area of demographics and its impact on Canadian social and economic life. In his capacity as Associate Director and Senior Investment Executive, Mr. Cork takes an in depth look at how the boomers spending and financial habits effect the stock market and uses this insight to arrive at a unique method of securities selection. He is quoted extensively in the financial media and has also been featured on CBC Newsworld, Question Period with Craig Oliver, Pamela Wallin Live, and CBCs The National.
