Barbara Bermudo is the host of Univision's news magazine, "Primer Impacto," which has the highest audience ratings in the United States and 12 countries in Latin America.

Barbara Bermudo has been part of the Univision family since 1999 where she started as a news reporter in a Miami affiliate station, WLTV-Channel 23. While at the station, earned her a nomination for the prestigious Emmy Award for her work on a story about young people and drugs in South Florida. Three years later (2001), joined the chain as a "Primer Impacto" reporter covering high profile stories including the terrorist acts of September 11.

Apart from her current position in "Primer Impacto," Bermudo has been a presenter and spokesperson for important events in the channel. In 2006, she joined Mayor Michael Bloomberg to announce the Latin Grammy broadcast for the first time on Univision in New York and has since been the spokeswoman for Univision to announce the new location throughout the years for this magnificent event.

She has interviewed many important figures. In 2013 she accompanied Michelle Obama on the anniversary of her Let's Move campaign and talked to the first lady about the importance of good nutrition and physical activity in schools. The interview received a lot of praise for its dynamics and interactivity between the two.

She also had the first interview with the Governor of Puerto Rico Alejandro Garcia Padilla simultaneously as he occupied the Executive Mansion along with an exclusive interview with the first lady Wilma Pastrana. She has also covered as a reporter and co-host several shows at "Despierta America" and "Univision ultima hora." Bermudo has joined the Univision sports team on several occasions for the transmission of the most exciting sporting events of the Spanish-language television, including the match United States vs. Mexico in 2007 (the highest match rating in the history of the network), and the World Cup championship in 2002 and 2006, where she received special coverage on "Primer impacto."

Barbara began her television career during the '90s at CBS Television news as an intern. Upon completing her studies in 1997, she moved to her native Puerto Rico and was immediately hired as a reporter for the morning show and news -- 6pm Televicentro Chain. Prior to joining Univision, she was a producer and reporter for Telemundo Entertainment Program, Special Edition. Throughout her career, Barbara has received numerous awards for her work, including one award by the city of Miami, as one of the "Puerto Rican Professionals" excelling in the community. In addition, she received an award from the United Way for their journalistic contributions in covering Hispanic issues in South Florida.

The Emmy Nominated journalist and TV presenter is also a spokesperson for numerous projects within the Latino community. She has been the face of "Well with Kelloggs Begins" and "Got Milk" campaigns and has been chosen to represent major brands such as Pantene, Pampers and Kellogg. Bermudo was invited to the White House in Washington, D.C. along with with 12 of the most influential Hispanics to converse with President Obama on the most important issues that will affect the Latino community. In 2007 Barbara Bermudo was invited by the Mayor of New York Bloomberg to ring the opening bell at the stock exchange.

Barbara Bermudo has a degree in journalism from American University in Washington, D.C. She currently resides in Miami, Fla. with her husband and two daughters Mia Andrea and Camila Andrea.
