B.J. Bischoff Biography

Dr. B.J. Bischoff specializes in implementing change management projects. Her primary focus has been on strategy development to improve organizational performance. For 30 years, she has been leading improvement initiatives by consulting and training teams in hundreds of the best corporations, government agencies, education institutions, and nonprofit agencies in the world.

Dr. Bischoff earned her Doctorate in Higher Education Administration, her Master of Science degree in College Student Personnel Administration, and her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Theatre from Indiana University-Bloomington, then embarked on an academic career as the Director of Ball State University's Center for Entrepreneurial Resources and as Associate Director for Credit Programs in Continuing Studies at Indiana University/Purdue University in Indianapolis.

In 1990, she turned her attention to providing training services to developing nations and emerging economies, funded by The World Bank and the U.S. Agency for International Development. Her international work has taken her to 30 countries on projects that included conducting Gender Equity in the Classroom research, training, and consultation for the Moroccan Ministry of Education, implementing the Erdut Agreement of the Dayton Peace Accords, and facilitating the development of a primary healthcare model in Romania.

Dr. Bischoff went on to establish the government consulting practice for the eighth largest U.S. accounting and management consulting firm in 1999. Since then, she has had numerous assignments, including cross-cultural consulting services to Eli Lilly and Company in the U.S., China, and Japan and cross-cultural communications training for Rolls Royce Corporation. With a special focus on trainers and performance improvement consultants, B.J. developed and conducted train-the-trainer programs for clients with which she has had multiple-year relationships including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, United Healthcare, Blue Cross-Blue Shield/Anthem, the Credit Union National Association, the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, the United States Agency for International Development, and United States Department of Labor. She recently completed a three-year project evaluating Indiana’s post-secondary and secondary career and technical education programs. In addition, she completed an evaluation of Indiana’s public education system with the National Association of State Boards of Education and the National Governors Association.

Today, Dr. Bischoff makes her home in Sonoma, CA, where she is the owner of Bischoff Performance Improvement Consulting. She is a featured columnist for The Sonoma Sun newspaper, president of Impact100 Sonoma, and a member of the Sonoma County Upstream Portfolio Review Committee.
