Once a promising football athlete, a near fatal traffic accident changed Wheelchair Bodybuilder Champion Nick Scott's life as he knew it forever- Overweight and disparaging, Nick determined to transform his life from a debilitating tragedy into a personal triumph. Now a certified fitness and bodybuilding trainer and an award winning champion in the wheelchair division of bodybuilding and two time powerlifting champion, internationally acclaimed Nick Scott is the first wheelchair bodybuilder to attain professional status, transforming wheelchair bodybuilding at groundbreaking levels.
As a professional bodybuilder, personal trainer, motivational speaker, and in fact- an entertainer; Nick Scott has the enthusiasm, vision, convictions, abilities, and life experience to reach out to inspire and give hope to others who still have no idea the personal strength they can tap into if only they will believe and try. One of the reasons is Nick's sincerity- vested in helping others Nick speaks honestly from the heart of his passion combined with expert knowledge and personal experience.
Wheelchair bodybuilding is Scott's passion and his life. His goals for this sport come from the heart. Founder and owner of the largest online wheelchair bodybuilding community, and a global promoter of the sport of wheelchair bodybuilding, Nick's mission is to bring more awareness and exposure to the sport of wheelchair bodybuilding, and he intends to lead by example. He has promoted the sport in many forms through news stations, newspapers, major magazines, and motivational speaking, and on stage at countless competitions and events, and has traveled across the United States to bring more awareness and exposure to the sport of wheelchair bodybuilding. Nick helps guide others with disabilities that have a desire to achieve their fitness goals.
Early 2009 Nick Scott became the founder and President of Wheelchair Bodybuilding, Inc. a non-profit tax exempt 501 (c) (3) national organization. The purpose of Wheelchair Bodybuilding, Inc. is to provide and support the Wheelchair Bodybuilding experience through activities that are open to any child, adult, or veteran with a disability with the hope of providing both physical and psychological therapeutic value to that person.
Dedicated to his convictions, Nick Scott created and led a Wheelchair Bodybuilding Camp at the Shriners hospital in Chicago; the first ever of its kind. Teens in wheelchairs from around the country spent one week learning about fitness techniques for strength training and proper performance nutrition and introduced to exercise routines. This past March, Nick did his first Fitness DVD using The Burn Machine.
Nick blows people away with his vision, ambition and the speed at which he implements his philosophies and ideas. More recently, Nick charted new territory when he teamed up with famed professional dancer Aubree Marchione, where the two are setting a precedent in wheelchair ballroom dancing by creating a "Wheelchair" division in professional Dance. The two will compete together in the 2010 season of "Dancing With the Stars."
A fitness model and sponsored athlete for bodybuilding.com, Wheelchair Bodybuilding Champion Nick Scott presently dedicates his time and expertise in fitness and bodybuilding to inspire others by helping them to shape not only their bodies, but their thoughts about life and what is possible.
Speaking as an individual with a physical disability Nick shares the message "If I can do it- anyone can achieve their desires to become physically fit. Take that empowering mentality even further and you can achieve anything you want to in life- if you really want to. The question is, How bad do you want it and what are you willing to do to make it happen?" For Nick, settling for anything less than his best; giving up- quitting- is not an option- its simply not a part of the equation.
With a book in the works, Nick Scott's story is certain to motivate and inspire the masses.
