Dennis T. Yang Biography
Professor Yang obtained his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago. Between 1993 and 2012, he served on the economics faculty at Duke University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
His main research interests are economic development and growth, labor and demographic economics, and the economics of China and transition. Professor Yang has published widely in leading academic journals including American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Economic Journal, Journal of Monetary Economics and Journal of Development Economics. He is the co-editor of three books on economic reforms in China, currently serves on the Editorial Boards of several international economic journals, and is an Executive Board member of the Association for Comparative Economic Studies. He has served as a consultant to several international organizations such as the World Bank and leading multinational corporations in the world.
