Dan Kohler Biography
Dan Kohler is the creator of the website Renegade Kitchen, which started as an imaginary website. He told friends that it was "down for service" for six months before it had even launched. But guess what? It's a real live baby now.
He grew up in a house full of food allergies, and 15 years ago there weren't many options on the shelves for those avoiding gluten or dairy. Solution? Get in the kitchen. Kohler started baking and cooking and tried to crack the code on his favorite recipes. The crunchy-hippie-rainbow-birdseed cookies that were offered as alternatives at the health food stores didn't satisfy his sweet jaw. Kohler wanted real treats, and he wanted to make them. So he did. Renegade Kitchen is a collection of Kohler's food adventures, from testing batches upon batches of chocolate chip cookies to visiting funky food events around the country.
By daylight Kohler's an actor in New York City. He has appeared on "Law and Order: SVU" and as a Blue Man in Blue Man Group in New York, Vegas and Berlin. He is a proud graduate of Northwestern University and a hopeless comic book collector.
