Winston Ma is a Managing Director of the China Investment Corporation (CIC) and Head of CIC’s office in Toronto for North America, with a focus on long-term investments in large-scale concentrated positions. Since joining CIC at inception in 2008, Ma has held leadership roles in major direct transactions in natural resources, agriculture, high tech and financial services sectors. Prior to CIC, Ma was Deputy Head of Equity Capital Markets at Barclays Capital in New York. He was also a Vice-President at JPMorgan investment banking and a corporate lawyer at Davis Polk & Wardwell’s New York office and Freshfields’ Shanghai Office. Ma’s book "China's Mobile Economy" will be released in 2016, he also is the author of “Investing in China.”
