In 2014, Knapp played Jonah Breck, one of the lead roles in the science-fiction thriller film, "The Signal," along with Brenton Thwaites, Olivia Cooke, and Laurence Fishburne. The same year, he also starred in the drama, "You're Not You," as Jackson alongside Hilary Swank, Emmy Rossum and Josh Duhamel.
Knapp also played the role Kenan Boyle in the crime thriller, "Run All Night," opposite Liam Neeson, Joel Kinnaman, Common, and Ed Harris, which Jaume Collet-Serra directed. In 2015, he also appeared in the boxing drama Southpaw, as Jon Jon, along with Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, and Rachel McAdams, Most recently, he was cast as detective Walker in the 2015 mystery/thriller, "The Gift."
