Barrie M. Osborne Biography

The son of Hertha Schwarz and William Osborne, Barrie was born in New York Cityand grew up in New Rochelle, New York where he graduated New Rochelle High School. He is an alumnus of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.

Osborne's most notable work is "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King," for which he was the recipient of the Oscar Award the Academy Award for Best Picture, which he shares with Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. He also produced the 2013 "The Great Gatsby" remake, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby. Along with Christian Keller as film director, together with Hollywood awarded Alan B. Curtiss, and Mexican entrepreneur Max Appedole, Osborne is preparing a major Latin film with the production of "Gloria," a biopic about the life of controversial Mexican pop star Gloria Trevi.

In October 2014, Osborne turned to Kickstarter to help fund "Talk Is Cheap," an important environmental-themed family drama for writer, director, and producer Jim Jarrett.
