Zainab Balogun Biography
Born and raised in London, Zainab Balogun is a Nigerian talent whose physical beauty is matched by her creative mind and her ability to rise to any occasion. Scouted by Premier Models Management at only 16 years old, she proceeded into a successful modelling career. Zainab has been featured in both national and international campaigns with the likes of United Colours of Benetton (UK), Purple Aura Jewels (USA) and Isklar Water (Norway) just to name a few. With London and New York Fashion Weeks regularly under her belt, she blossomed in the fast-paced fashion world. With strong values on education, Zainab managed to juggle it all finally graduating with a Bachelor of Law degree.
On set, her humility and professionalism have always endeared coupled with her knack for networking and it’s easy to see how she was soon offered other media related positions. Not content with just being in front of the camera, Zainab co-founded ‘The J-ist TV’ show, an online entertainment web-series. She used this medium to express her passion for African culture with a range of topical issue and interviews involving some of Africa’s top personalities such as Tiwa Savage, Naeto C and Shingai Shonewa.
She evolved to become an award winning TV presenter shortly after joining EbonyLife TV; a brand new global black entertainment network on the DSTV Africa platform. She not only features as a presenter but also produces on the channel on ‘EL Now’; a daily entertainment news show for what's cool, black and happening in fashion, music, arts, and more. She’s also joined by 2 co-hosts on ‘The SpOT’; an original daily talk show with a unique hang-out style and format.
Not your average girl, her natural transition into the acting world began as she started to book work as an extra in both TV and film productions. The more times spent on sets, the greater her interests grew as she featured in the likes of BBC One’s drama ‘Material Girl, Bollywood movie ‘’Cocktail’’ and ‘’The Charlatons’’ by Ashley Walters. She even found herself on set with legendary director Christopher Nolan in 2011 for The Dark Night Rises, in which she described as an unforgettable experience. Shortly after this, she was back on screen yet again with a lead role in The Island; a brand new TV series by Urban Vision (Nigeria).
