One of Hollywood’s most respected actors, two-time Emmy Award-winner (HOMICIDE, THIEF) and eight time Emmy Award-nominee (BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, THIEF, GIDEON’S CROSSING, HOMICIDE, THE TUSKEGEE AIRMEN) Andre Braugher is able to cross over from television to film to theatre with ease.CURRENT Andre stars opposite Andy Samberg as precint captain ‘Ray Holt’ in the FOX hit comedy BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, currently in its second season and already renewed for a third. He also recurs on LAW & ORDER SVU.

Braugher has appeared in several feature films including GLORY, POSEIDON, FANTASTIC 4: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER, PASSENGERS, SALT, and most recently, THE GAMBLER.

Andre’s television work includes GIDEON’S CROSSING, THIEF (for which he won an Emmy for Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actor in a Mini-Series and a Golden Globe Award nomination), MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE alongside Ray Romano and Scott Bakula (for which he received Emmy Award nominations in 2010 and 2011), and LAW & ORDER SVU.

Andre has appeared on stage with the New York Shakespeare Festival in Measure for Measure, Twelfth Night, in the title role of Henry V, which earned him an Obie Award and last summer in As You Like It. In 2011 Braugher starred in the Manhattan Theatre Club’s New York premiere of Matthew Lopez’s The Whipping Man.

Andre who was born and raised in Chicago, earned a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.F.A. from Juilliard. Andre and his wife, actress Ami Brabson, have three sons.
