Ted King Biography

Ted King joined the cast of General Hospital as the wealthy and powerful Luis Ramon Alcazar in July of 2002. After the character's untimely death last year, Ted King returned to the "General Hospital" canvas in 2003 as Luis' brother Lorenzo Alcazar, a character even more lethal and menacing than his brother.

Daytime viewers also know King for his portrayal of Danny Roberts on ABC Daytime's Loving and its spin-off series, The City. Other television credits include a starring role on the popular television series Charmed, and the starring role on the primetime action series Timecop, based on the feature film of the same name. He has had guest-starring roles on such critically-acclaimed series as Frasier, Sex and the City and Law & Order: SVU, among many others. His feature film credits include The X-Files movie and a starring role in the independent feature film Hoodlum and Son.

King was born in Hollywood, California, and was raised in both Los Angeles and Bethesda, Maryland. He received his college degree from The University of California, Santa Barbara, and went on to study film direction at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. He has worked in film editing and has been a major force in New York Theater over the past several years. King is credited with co-founding the Portal Theater Company, an off Broadway repertory company, where he directed Beggars in the House of Plenty, written by John Patrick Shanley.

Off-screen King is active in various charitable organizations, including The Make-A-Wish Foundation.

He currently divides his time between Los Angeles and New York.
