Gilbert Gottfried BiographyGilbert Gottfried is perhaps best known for his trademark comedic persona of speaking in a loud and grating tone of voice. After his stellar performance as the wise cracking parrot, Iago, in the Disney classic Aladdin, Gottfried became one of the country's most recognizable voiceover talents. His signature voice can be heard in several commercials, cartoons and movies, including the frustrated duck in the AFLAC Insurance commercials and Digit in the math-mystery cartoon Cyberchase on PBS Kids GO!
In film, he appeared in the hit sequel Beverly Hills Cop II and has developed a reputation as the king of quirky roles in both movies and television, including the Problem Child movies, Family Guy, Fairly Odd Parents and numerous other shows. He even appeared as a regular on Hollywood Squares, where some of his classic moments of berating the contestants are now favorites on YouTube.
A regular on various Comedy Central celebrity roasts, Gottfried has built a reputation as one of the funniest comedians working today. The New York Post said, "To see him on stage is to witness a tour de force performance by an imaginative comic artist." It was his delivery of what is known as the dirtiest joke of all time, that inspired Penn Gillette (of Penn & Teller fame) to use his monologue as a segment in their famed documentary The Aristocrats. Entertainment Weekly said, "Out of the 101 comedians who appear on screen (including Robin Williams, Sarah Silverman, Eric Idle and Lewis Black), no one is funnier - or more disgusting – than Gilbert Gottfried."
The squinting, gravel-voiced comedian is also a notorious favorite of Howard Stern, appearing on his radio show more times than any other celebrity guest.
Gottfried regularly performs live to sold-out audiences across North America and his DVD/CD Gilbert Gottfried Dirty Jokes was called an "unabashedly gleeful compendium of filthy gags."
