Wink Martindale

Winston Conrad "Wink" Martindale began his career in the entertainment industry as a disc jockey at the age of 17 at WPLI in Jackson, Tennessee. His distinctive voice and charismatic personality quickly catapulted him into the public eye, leading to a successful career as a radio personality and game show host. Martindale's tenure in the entertainment industry is marked by his roles as host of notable game shows such as "Gambit" from 1972 to 1976, "Tic-Tac-Dough" from 1978 to 1985, "High Rollers" from 1987 to 1988, and "Debt" from 1996 to 1998. Alongside his hosting duties, Martindale also ventured into television production, forming his own production company, Wink Martindale Enterprises, and creating the game show "Headline Chasers" in 1985.

In addition to his work in television and radio, Martindale also made his mark in the music industry. His rendition of the spoken-word song "Deck of Cards" reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and sold over a million copies in 1959. His hosting duties extended beyond game shows; he hosted the TV show "Teenage Dance Party," where Elvis Presley made an appearance, and the nationally and internationally syndicated radio show "The History of Rock 'n' Roll" starting in 2021.

Martindale's influence and contributions to the entertainment industry have been recognized with several accolades. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006 and was inducted into the American TV Game Show Hall of Fame in 2007. Beyond his work in the entertainment industry, Martindale has also been involved in various other ventures. He has appeared in various TV commercials and was a pitchman for the travel website Orbitz. He also appeared on the soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful" in 2016 and participated in a KFC advertising campaign in 2017.
