Wang Jianlin

Wang Jianlin was born in 1954 and joined the army in 1970. He left the army in 1986 and served as Office Administrator of Xigang District Government, Dalian. Since 1989, he has been Chairman of the Dalian Wanda Group.

As Wang Jianlin has made outstanding achievements in business management and corporate social responsibility, he has received various honors. In 2005, he was named “CCTV Chinese Economy Person of the year.” In 2005 and 2008, he received the honor of “China Charity Award: most loving individual donor” from the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

In 2007, he received the honor of “National Excellent Private Entrepreneur Caring about Employees” from All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce and All-China Federation of Trade Unions. In 2008, he won the National May 1 Labor Medal.

In 2009, he won “China Glory Outstanding Contribution Award” from the United Front Work Department, All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce and China Glory Society. In 2009, he also won “Excellent Individual in Helping the Disabled” from the State Council, “Excellent Builder of Socialist Cause” from the United Front Work Department and “Business Leader” from CCTV.

In 2010, Wang Jianlin received the honor of “National Model of Earthquake Disaster Relief” from the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission.

In 2011, Wang Jianlin received the honor of “Excellent Individual in Building Well-off Society” from the United Front Work Department, All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
