A five-time U.S. National Champion and inductee in the U.S. Ski Hall of Fame, Tommy’s successful race career on the U.S. Ski Team lasted from 1987 until 1998. He competed in three Olympics: Albertville; Lillehammer; and Nagano. In Lillehammer, Tommy became the first American male skier to win two medals at one Olympic Games; he won downhill gold by four hundreths of a second over Norwegian favorite Kjetill Andre Aamodt, then scored a silver medal in the Super G, a scant eight hundredths of a second away from a second gold medal.
After the Ski Team he spent the next six years on the Jeep King of the Mountain Tour, and now co-owns the Tordrillo Lodge in Alaska, where he guides guests on annual 'Kings and Corn' trips.
