Tina Knowles Lawson

Tina Knowles-Lawson is a fashion designer, entrepreneur and philanthropist. She began her career as a makeup artist & hairstylist later becoming a stylist for the superstar group Destiny's Child. She later designed for Beyoncé's world music tours, television performances, movies and red carpet appearances. As a designer, she created three successful clothing lines, House of Deréon, Deréon and Miss Tina.

Her philanthropic work began along with her family, the establishment of The Knowles-Rowland Center for Youth in Houston, Texas, and Miss A Meal. She also has done extensive work with hurricane victims and testing for Covid-19.

Knowles-Lawson is author of "Destiny’s Style" and is currently working on her second book. With husband, actor Richard Lawson, her latest philanthropic initiative is the launch of their non-profit WACO Theater Center in Los Angeles. The WACO Theater center is dedicated to the empowerment of artists within a diversified pool of LA communities and creates a space where art can occur.

Knowles-Lawson’s passion is her and Richard’s mentoring programs, Tina’s Angels and Richard’s Warrior‘s, that exposes kids to the arts, etiquette, travel, healthy lifestyles, role models and expands their window of opportunities. The overall goal of the mentorship program is to provide experiences that improve the young people’s quality of life and encourage them to dream big.
