Susan Crown Biography
Susan Crown is chairman and founder of SCE, a social investment organization that connects talent and innovation with market forces to drive social change. SCE’s first program focuses on the development and distribution of digital media that help children learn skills necessary for the 21st century workplace and civic life. Crown is chairman of the executive committee of Illinois Tool Works, vice chair of Rush University Medical Center, and a vice president of Henry Crown & Company, a Chicago-based investment firm. She serves on the board of directors of Northern Trust Corporation, and is a trustee of the Natural Resources Defense Council and founder and co-chair of NRDC’s Midwest Council. She recently co-chaired CARE’s national conference on global poverty in Washington, DC, which advocated for legislation on food security programs, child marriage, and global warming to the US Congress.
