Neil Livingstone

Dr. Neil Livingstone was a candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor in his home state of Montana from 2010-2012. Prior to that, he spent more than thirty years involved in international business at the highest levels around the globe, addressing some of the most complex and challenging problems confronting major corporations. Dr. Livingstone was Chairman and CEO of ExecutiveAction LLC, an international security and business solutions company, and founder, Chairman and CEO of GlobalOptions Inc., which he took public in 2005.

Dr. Livingstone was also a Director of Erickson Air-Crane, becoming Lead Director in 2006 and overseeing the sale of the company in 2007. For more than ten years, he handled external relations, including banking relationships, investments in other companies, large-scale equipment purchases and trade matters for Zeromax GmbH, the largest private company in Central Asia with 27,000 employees and $4 billion in sales.

A frequent commentator on international issues, NBC’s Tom Brokaw described Dr. Livingstone as, “one of this nation’s preeminent authorities on terrorism” and he was recently introduced at the Institute for World Politics as “the dean of America’s terrorism experts.” Dr. Livingstone has served on more than three dozen Advisory Boards and has appeared on 1700 television programs, including Nightline, Meet the Press, The Newshour with Jim Lehrer, Primetime, Dateline and the evening news on all of the major networks.

For nearly ten years, Dr. Livingtone was an Adjunct Professor of National Security Studies at Georgetown University. In 1984, he was one of three founding members of the Solidarity Endowment, established in the U.S. to promote the goals and purposed of Polish Solidarity, and he served on the organization’s board of directors for six years. During the 2000 election, he was a member of the Bush-Cheney Entertainment Industry Task Force. Dr. Livingstone has served in an advisory capacity to the Pentagon, the Chief of Naval Operations and the Secretary of State, and testifies before Congress. A former assistant to two U.S. Senators, Dr. Livingstone was President of the Institute on Terrorism and Subnational Conflict and has also held a number of senior corporate positions.

Dr. Livingstone holds an A.B. (with Honors in Government) from the College of William and Mary: and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Montana; and an M.A., M.A.L.D., and Ph.D. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He received an Honorable Discharge from the USAR, 1969. Much in demand as a public speaker, he has delivered more than 600 major addresses to audiences around the world.
