John McCall MacBain Biography
John McCall MacBain is the Founder of the McCall MacBain Foundation and Pamoja Capital SA, its investment arm.
From 1987 to 2006, Mr. McCall MacBain was the Founder, President and CEO of Trader Classified Media, the world’s leading company in the classified advertising sector. The Company was sold in 2006 for $2 billion.
He is a Rhodes Scholar and received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, an M.A. in Law from Oxford University and Honours BA in Economics from McGill University, where he was President of Students’ Society of McGill University.
He is the Chairman of the European Climate Foundation and on the Advisory Board for the Yale Centre for Environmental Law and Policy. He is also a long-time member of the World Economic Forum. In addition, John is on the Executive Committee of the McGill Campaign as well as other charitable activities.
He is fluent in French and English with a working knowledge of Spanish. He has completed four marathons and is a commercial land and seaplane pilot.
