Crystal Ashby Biography
Crystal E. Ashby is currently the Vice President of Government and Public Affairs for BP America Inc. Prior to her current role, she held several positions in the Legal function: most recently the Head of Change Management and just prior to that, Managing Attorney for US Retail Operations, based in Warrenville, IL. During 2004 and 2005, Crystal was based in London. During that time, she filled several roles for the company including: EA reporting to Group Vice President and President, BP America Inc. and Group Managing Director and Group Chief of Staff, as well as EA reporting to the Group Compliance & Ethics Officer for BP plc.
Prior to her time in London, Crystal was a Senior Attorney in the Litigation Group of BP Legal based in the Chicago land area. During Crystal’s 16 years with the company, she has worked in various areas of BP Legal supporting a variety of clients in the Refining, Marketing and Chemical segments. Prior to joining Amoco Oil Company, Crystal was an associate at Hinshaw & Culbertson and Jones, Ware & Grenard. Just out of law school she clerked for the Honorable Judge Odas Nicholson. Crystal obtained her JD from DePaul University College of Law and her BA in English and Psychology from the University of Michigan.
