Chaz Jenkins Biography
Chaz Jenkins has been Head of LSO Live, the London Symphony Orchestra’s own label, since its launch in 2000. LSO Live is one of today’s most influential record labels, recording extensively with many of the world’s leading conductors including Sir Colin Davis, Valery Gergiev and Bernard Haitink.
LSO Live was one of the first classical labels to embrace digital distribution in order to reach a wider audience. Its releases have collected numerous awards including Grammy, Classical Brit and Gramophone Awards.
Chaz has pioneered new co-production agreements with broadcasters and worked closely with Google on the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, of which the LSO is a founding partner. He has advised other arts organisations on strategies in the recording industry and is currently helping the Mariinsky Theatre of St Petersburg (previously known as The Kirov) establish its own label.
Chaz previously worked as a nightclub manager and pop concert promoter.
