The CMA Music Festival delivers 4 days of toe tappin’, boot-scootin’ music.  Hosted by the Country Music Association, fans have over 151 hours of concerts to choose from and can even obtain autographs from their favorite stars.  These musicians are respected in the country music business and will be taking part in the 2017 festival.

CMA Music Festival Performers

1Aaron Watson
Country Music Singer

When Watson started making music, they called him the Honky Tonk Kid. At 35, they still do. He’s proud of it: though he’s gone from an old van and trailer to a tour bus, from sawdust floors to big stages, he still holds dear the core reasons why he first started writing songs and singing so many years ago. Watson has been through a lot in his 12-year career: 11 albums, the birth of four children, countless hours on the road and many more still spent toiling away at his guitar, writing songs with Jesus on one shoulder and the ghost of Waylon Jennings on the other, making the country tunes he was born to play.

2The Bellamy Brothers
Classic Country Duo

For more than 30 years, the Bellamy Brothers have been an unassuming picture of consistency in Country music, crafting honest, heartfelt songs that connect with millions of listeners around the world. Even more remarkable is the fact that they’ve remained relevant in a genre that has become increasingly enamored with style over substance, glitz over grit, and fleeting celebrity over artistic vision. Yet Howard and David Bellamy have weathered the trends admirably, enjoying enormous success throughout their career with numerous No. 1 hits on both the Pop and Country charts.

3Brandy Clark
Country Music Singer-Songwriter

A native of Morton, Washington, Clark began playing guitar at the age of nine, dabbling with songwriting along the way. During high school, she concentrated on athletics, winning a basketball scholarship to Central Washington University, but she wound up abandoning sports and returned home, where she attended community college. More importantly, she also returned to music, starting to play guitar and sing in local bands. In 1998, she moved to Nashville, where she attended the music business program at Belmont University while continuing to concentrate on songwriting. In the summer of 2016 she released Big Day in a Small Town, her Warner debut produced by Jay Joyce.

4Cam
Country Music Singer-Songwriter

Cam (born Camaron Marvel Ochs; November 19, 1984) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Her music incorporates elements taken from contemporary pop music. She began her career as a songwriter, composing material for several artists including Miley Cyrus. After signing with Sony Music Entertainment, she released her debut major label EP in March 2015, Welcome to Cam Country. She launched her second studio album, Untamed in December 2015 on the success of the song. “Burning House” has since received widespread acclaim, including a nomination from the 2016 Grammy Awards.

5Canaan Smith
Country Music Singer-Songwriter

There’s nothing like life on the road to transform a promising young talent into a superstar in the making. Case in point: Canaan Smith. Since bursting on the scene with the compelling single “We Got Us,” the young singer/songwriter has been touring with Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley and Florida Georgia Line, and now his latest single, “Love You Like That” is fast becoming a sizzling summer hit. “It’s like gasoline in the tank,” Smith says. “It’s got an energy that gets the crowd high, and I love performing it. The first verse says “I ain’t gonna do it like a pretty city boy, I’m a fishin’ in the dark nitty gritty boy” and right off the bat, it sets a tone for the message of the song and what’s coming next.”

6Chase Bryant
Country Music Singer-Songwriter

Music defines Chase Bryant. At every level and in often unexpected ways, his truths are expressed in melody, lyrics, hooks and sounds, but his reality goes even deeper than that. Bryant’s heritage is defined by music. His upbringing, his craft, his inspiration and his obsessions are all centered in the same – which is good – because there’s no other way to explain how a 22-year-old Texan could already be a top-flight guitar player, head-turning songwriter, RED BOW recording artist and co-producer of his debut album. “We all have a destination,” he says. “We all have dreams we want to follow. I’m no different than anybody else, I just sing about it. It’s my job to put the party on and give people a good reason to have fun.”

7Chris Stapleton
Country and Blues Singer-Songwriter

Renowned and respected in Nashville, Stapleton has co-written six No. 1 hits for some of country music’s biggest stars and has continually worked as an in-demand session musician, providing masterful backup vocals and guitar work to countless pieces of music. Released in May on Mercury Records Nashville, Traveller initially debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart with more than 27,000 albums sold, making it the best-selling first week by a debut country artist in 2015. The album also received immediate and extensive critical acclaim and landed him bookings on “Late Show with David Letterman,” “The View,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” among others. Recently won the award for Top Country Album at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.

8Drake White
Country Music Singer

Born in Hokes Bluff, Alabama, country singer and songwriter Drake White’s mix of country, blues, funk, rock & roll, and reggae and his energetic, foot-stomping live shows eventually led him to Nashville and beyond. Growing up, he sang in the choir at his local church, and after getting a guitar at the age of 14 from a neighbor down the road who played bluegrass, he began writing and playing songs, continuing to do so while attending Gadsen State Community College and then Auburn University. After graduation, White took a job with a general contractor in Nashville, working by day and playing the song rounds at night, developing, with his band the Big Fire, a crackling and energetic stage presence that often found him freestyling lyrics in the middle of songs. He caught the eye of producer Jeremy Stover and was soon signed to MCA Nashville, turned his attention full-time to music, and released a debut single, “Simple Life,” on the label early in 2013.

9Eli Young Band
Country Band

Its a crazy-good story. The Eli Young Band is four musicians who met during their college days in Texas is now 11 years into a career built on touring without a single lineup change. That dedication is paying off big-time as the band enjoys a crazy new level of success. They sell a crazy amount of tickets. Get a crazy amount of airplay. EYB received their first platinum record for “Crazy Girl” and have sold over 1.5 million downloads of the track. “We decided that we would be stronger, the four of us going through it together instead of just one person, which I think is the best thing about being a band. You have a group of people to share everything with, to share some of the work and keep each other grounded.”

10Granger Smith
Country Music Singer-Songwriter

Over the course of nine albums, at a time when the music industry is undergoing a top-to-bottom transformation, Granger Smith has been building a career that is truly groundbreaking. With sold-out national tours, a social media following of more than four million, and YouTube views exceeding 35 million, he has amassed an audience that is purely organic and rabid. He has continually searched for new and innovative ways to connect with his fans and —one by one, room by room — built a national following, which also caught the attention of Nashville’s powerhouse label-group BBR Music Group. It is this dynamic path to success and national demand that recently landed Granger as the flagship artist, along with Trace Adkins, of BBR’s Music Group’s newest imprint, Wheelhouse Records.

11James Otto
Country Music Singer-Songwriter

There’s a certain chemistry that happens when a great vocalist collides with a hit song. Magic just explodes from the speakers and the impact is undeniable. It’s a phenomenon James Otto knows well. His breakthrough hit, “Just Got Started Lovin’ You,” topped the country chart and was the Most Played Country Single of the Year in 2008, according to Billboard magazine. Otto’s bluesy, muscular voice and dynamic stage presence earned him the respect of industry gatekeepers and the adoration of legions of country music fans. However, real country music is fed by life experience and Otto stepped away from the spotlight to focus on family and pour his life into a new season of songwriting. Now he’s returned to recording with an infectious new single, “Somewhere Tonight,” that reveals a renewed commitment to creating his own unique brand of country music.

12Jon Pardi
Country Music Singer-Songwriter

Jon Pardi’s high-energy approach, perfected on stages throughout his native California, has its stamp all over his Capitol Records Nashville debut. Just as importantly, that energy is applied to music rooted in songwriting legend Harlan Howard’s adage that country is three chords and the truth. Life and love, truth and energy wind their way all through his debut album, which showcases a young artist who is clearly no ordinary newcomer. Few artists hit stride as quickly and as forcefully as he has, and his fellow artists have been among the first to take note. “People ask me who I’d like to open up for,” he says with a smile, “but I’ve been lucky enough to have opened for several artists I look up to.”

13Kane Brown
Country Music RCA

Kane Brown was born and raised in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area by a single mother, moving from Rossville to Fort Oglethorpe and LaFayette in Georgia, finally settling in Red Bank, Tennessee. The singer was exposed to country music from a young age and was encouraged to enter his 11th-grade talent show singing “Gettin’ You Home Tonight” by his favorite singer Chris Young. Kane won the talent show and he began his dream of pursuing a country music career. In November, 2015, Kane embarked on his first headline tour and has sold out every show he has played across the country. Kane is currently in the process of signing a major label record deal, and “Used to Love You Sober” will be a single at country radio in early-spring 2016.

14Kellie Pickler
Country Music Artist

Kellie Pickler grew up immersed in country music in the small town of Albemarle, North Carolina with the words of Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton shaping her musical footing. At the age of 19, she gained fame as a contestant on the fifth season of “American Idol.” In 2006, she signed with 19 Recordings/BNA Records and released her debut album, Small Town Girl, which has gone on to sell more than 900,000 copies worldwide and produce three hit singles. In spring of 2013, Pickler partnered with dance coach Derek Hough and won the Mirror Ball Trophy on “Dancing with the Stars.” That same year, she also released her fourth album, The Woman I Am, with Black River Entertainment, which featured three songs co-written by Pickler including the title cut.

15LANco
Country-Rock Quintet

They are five best friends making music and working to create something bigger while grinding it out on the road to build an identity. Through this, they became Lancaster & Company, now known as LANco. Everyone touched by their music becomes part of the Company. The band is nothing without the Company. The musical mission statement: every day in every way, throw one hell of a Company party. Together, LANco is Brandon Lancaster (lead vocals), Chandler Baldwin (bass), Jared Hampton (keyboards, banjo), Tripp Howell (drums), and Eric Steedly (lead guitar). Mining a catalog of songs written by Lancaster, the group began to develop its sound. Making the most of Howell’s day job in a carpet warehouse, the guys would slip in at night to rehearse on the little-traveled second level, loading their gear up and down with a forklift until they realized they could safely hide it with carpet between rehearsals.

16Lauren Alaina
Country Singer

Georgia native Lauren Alaina captured America’s hearts when she appeared on Season 10 of American Idol. On Jan. 27, 2017, Lauren followed up her No. 1 debuting first album with the release of the eagerly-awaited Road Less Traveled. Selected as one of Rolling Stone’s Most Anticipated Albums of 2017, the collection of 12 songs all written by the young star, includes Lauren’s first Top 10 hit and title track, “Road Less Traveled.” Lauren has been nominated for several Teen Choice Awards and CMT Music Awards, and the singer/songwriter just received her first ACM nomination for New Female Vocalist of the Year in 2017. Lauren regularly appears on the Grand Ole Opry, is one of Rdio’s Nashville Rising Artists, is a Spotify Spotlight on Country featured artist and is one of CMT’s Next Women of Country.

17Love and Theft
Country Music Duo

“We wanted to show a different side and make a record that sounds like us,” Stephen Barker Liles says. “We’re at a different place, in our music and in our lives, than we were when we made our earlier records, and we wanted this album to reflect that,” agrees musical partner Eric Gunderson. “We worked harder and more passionately on this record than anything we’ve ever done. The whole experience was refreshing and inspiring for us.” Whiskey On My Breath—the duo’s third album—marks a significant creative statement for the two singer-songwriter-guitarists. Having already established themselves as one of country’s hottest young acts with such memorable hits as the #1 country smash “Angel Eyes” and the Top 10 hit “Runaway,” and their widely acclaimed albums World Wide Open and Love and Theft, the ACM/CMA/CMT-nominated twosome take their music to the next level on Whiskey On My Breath.

18RaeLynn
Singer-Songwriter

Born Racheal Lynn Woodward on May 4, 1994 in Baytown, Texas, country singer and songwriter RaeLynn came to the public’s attention when she finished third on the second season of the television show The Voice in 2012. Born into a musical family (her brother Jake is a member of the Grammy-nominated band Leeland), RaeLynn first sang at church, but she discovered country music when she was 11 years old. The exposure did her well, and she signed a publishing deal with Dr. Luke’s Prescription Songs and a recording deal with Republic Nashville. With her debut album already recorded, RaeLynn split with Valory the following summer and signed with Warner’s Nashville arm, which issued the album WildHorse in December 2016.

19Trent Harmon
Singer

Trent Harmon holds the reigning title as American Idol. The Season XV victor originally hails from East Mississippi and immersed himself in music from an early age. From singing “Amazing Grace” with his family to starring in various musicals in college, Trent credits life on his family’s farm as a major influence on his music career. Less than one week after taking the title during the final season of American Idol, Trent entered the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, earning him a “hot shot debut” with coronation song “Falling,” which was written by Idol judge Keith Urban along with celebrated songwriters Dallas Davidson and Brett James. Already in the studio, the 25-year-old musician is eager to begin recording his self-described “Country-soul” album and recently released his debut single “There’s A Girl” on FOX & Friends’ Summer Concert Series.
