Sylvia "Small Fire" Cannon formerly known as Small Frie was born in Drew, Mississippi and later moved to Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 14. Not long after her journey through high school and college she started her career as a comedienne. Dedicating her life to God has led her to change her moral approach towards comedy. All of the animation, energy and aggressiveness from her club days are still there but her shows themes now revolve around the church and family values. "I believe the comedy ministry is mostly received because its not forced. Youre laughing and before you know it you're inspired."
Small Fire has been blessed to appear on well known comedy shows and entertainment programs such as: TBN, Bobby Jones Gospel, Word Network, Vibe, Class of 3000 on Cartoon Network w/ Andre 3000, Wayans Brothers Show, Showtime At The Apollo, Def Comedy Jam, B.E.T.s Lift Every Voice and Comic View, Tom Joyner Sky Show on TV1, and is a celebrity audience member on B.E.T.'s Sunday Best. She also appeared in the Disney Movie "The First Kid" with comedian Sinbad. She recently was featured on B.E.T.'s new comedy review titled "A Time to Laugh". Small Fire is the recipient of the 2004 Female Comedian of the Year, Urban Gospel Industry Awards 2005 Comedian Of Year, and Hollywood Gospel Insider Awards.
