While growing up in Chicago, it was not unusual for Saboura to study sketches, help select fabric, and learn about color and cut. Besides teaching him the intricacies of the design process, this involvement with fashion also served to heighten his innate talent. By the age of 12 he was instructing family and friends on what clothes to wear and what items to toss… how to style their hair and how to apply their makeup.

Saboura attended the University of Iowa, renowned for its creative writing program and Iowa Playwright’s Festival. Classically trained as an actor since the age of six, he held the lead in scores of back-to-back productions throughout his college years. He also traveled to New York to workshop various off-Broadway productions with Tony Kushner, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of “Angels in America.”

After graduating with honors in 1995 with a BA in both theatre arts and communications, Saboura moved to Los Angeles. It was there that he opted to put his acting career on hold, choosing instead to fine-tune his keen fashion sense. He began working as the personal shopper at the famed Fred Segal, Hollywood’s most exclusive specialty store, where he dazzled the clientele for seven years.

During this period, Saboura had the pleasure of working with hundreds of celebrities who came to rely on his extraordinary eye for fashion. He taught his clients how to be creative with clothing and achieve an individual style that enhanced their best qualities. His warm personality and unpretentious demeanor placed him in great demand. To this day, celebrities and “everyday people” alike continue to pursue Saboura’s style advice.

In addition to dressing the fashion elite of Los Angeles, Saboura is a sought-after personal stylist for celebrities in the film, television and music industries, and also works as a freelance wardrobe designer and consultant. As the style/image host of ABC’s hit reality series, “Extreme Makeover,” he is part of a highly skilled team that is transforming the looks—and lives—of individuals throughout the country.
