Biography of Marc Weiss

The basic concept is that cooking and gourmet food can be fun – DJ Chef mixes the music while mixing ingredients to some fabulous food. He also specializes in themed events where the food, music, and drinks all go together to create a tasty booty shaking, fun and educational experience. Most of all he is an entertainer and his personality and demonstrations command the attention of the audience. In the past year, the DJ Chef experience has been wide spread throughout the country. He has been featured on "What's Hot!, What's Cool!" on the Food Network and was dj/chef co-host with Lindsay Lohan for MTV’s Celebrity Spring Break fashion special. Event style guru David Tutera based an entire show of the Discovery Channel’s Party Planner on the DJ Chef experience. MSNBC's Entertainment Hot List featured him as the new, top hot entertainer on the scene. (Much of the show was filmed on DJ Chef's W Hotel Tour, which he co-headlined with Moby) This summer DJ Chef will be touring the West Coast and then coming back to do Christie Brinkley's celebrity chef charity event called the Blue Moon BBQ and other hot events/venues in the Hamptons.

 In print, Marc has been featured in the New York Times, Time Out New York, New York Post, Newsday, and Long Island Weddings, AM NY, & Right On! Magazine. He is presently a columnist for 495 Magazine and his columns have been featured in the ACF Newsletter, Good Times Magazine, and Best of Long Island Restaurant Magazine (food editor).  

As a TV personality, DJ Chef has performed on Food Network, Discovery Channel’s Party Planner, MSNBC’s Hot List,  NBC News, ABC News, WGN, MTV Networks, FUSE, WB News, & the News 12 Morning Show. His radio experience includes hosting regular segments on WLIR 92.7 “DJ CHEF FOOD 411” and WGBB “Culinary Adventures”. DJ CHEF’s is also slated to visit Opie & Anthony show on XM .

DJ CHEF’S infectious appeal has also sparked interest of advertisers.  He is the National Spokesperson for Lifetime Hoan’s Products, Chef Revival Apparel and Cooking Tools and Silgan Containers.

Marc has also launched products and promotions & performed events for W Hotels, Viacom, Tommy Hillfiger, Estee Lauder, Kraft Foods, Viking, GUCCI, Stew Leonard’s, Macy*s, Fairway, Porsche, Bloomingdale’s, Mercedes and Williams Sonoma.  Marc was honored this year by his Almer Mata the New York Restaurant School and will be inducted into their Hall of Fame for his achievement in the culinary field. Marc got his training working in some of the great kitchens in New York. He worked under chef’s Bobby Flay at Mesa City and Matthew Kenney at Matthew’s and at Time Café in SoHo. Marc is also is active in supporting charities. He served as Honorary Chairman for an event to help in the fight against AIDS with LIACC and served as the Master of Ceremonies and honorary chef for the March of Dimes Star Chef’s Gala.

 His Grandfather “Poppy”, a vegetable & produce market owner who worked until he was 90, use to say, “You have to work with great pride and high standards.”  And like Poppy, DJ CHEF won’t settle for less.
