Detailed Biography of Marc Kielburger
|
|
Leaders Today provides leadership programs to over 100,000 young people every year throughout Canada and the United States.
Marc is a Harvard graduate, Rhodes Scholar and Oxford-educated lawyer. He currently serves as Director of Leaders Today as well as Executive Director of Free the Children, the largest network of children helping children in the world with over 100,000 members active in 35 countries. Free the Children has built more than 350 primary schools, providing an education to over 20,000 children every day. Free the Children's work has been profiled on Oprah, 60 Minutes, CNN, CBC and in the New York Times, Time and People Magazine. Free the Children was recently nominated for the 2002/2003 Nobel Peace Prize.
Marc recently co-authored Take Action! with his younger brother Craig, which quickly became a national bestseller and has been adopted by the Toronto District School Board, the Hamilton Catholic District School Board and the Vancouver School Board. Take More Action!, the second book in the Take Action series, has recently been published and is already being adopted by schools, youth groups and school boards across the country. Mark has two additional books coming out in 2004.
