Lindsey grew up in the kitchen of his grandmother's legendary restaurant, where he learned the art of authentic soul food cooking. But he was also always overweight, and when he tipped the scales at 400 pounds, he knew he had to make some drastic changes. Lindsey completely changed his lifestyle and his diet, lost more than half his weight, and eventually created his own brand of healthy soul food cooking, which he serves today through his wildly successful event planning and catering business, Neo Soul Events and Catering.
Lindsey’s latest book, NEO SOUL: Taking Soul Food to a Whole ‘Nutha Level, brings readers soul food with a healthy twist - old favorites as well as new recipes that improve upon old family classics. This is not only a cookbook, but a testimony to what healthy eating can do when done correctly.
