Biography of Linda Lowson

 She has advised Financial Services and Technology market leaders for 30 years, as an Arthur Andersen National Practice Leader, founder of a management consulting firm and think tank, and attorney with Shearman and Sterling and other top law firms. She has helped her clients innovate and transform businesses and boost financial performance in all types of market and economic environments.
Linda’s unique strategic business management skills, keen vision, and uncommon insight derive from three decades of multidisciplinary advisory experience, and from her ongoing committed study of market leaders across 12 industries and the social, technological, and “civilization” trends that are the fundamental drivers of marketplace change. She has a deep, intuitive understanding of marketplace growth drivers, key business success drivers, and future global business and consumer trends. She excels at leadership, competitive strategy, market positioning, and strategic alliances (using other people’s resources to boost business performance), and is most passionate about how to create, manage, and sustain top-line growth in this new era.

At Arthur Andersen, Linda launched and led the Americas Financial Services Strategy Practice, and served as a member of the North American Financial Services Executive Leadership Team and Global Financial Services Industry Thought Leadership Team. Prior to this, she founded and successfully built Global Knowledge Institute into a premier boutique management consulting firm and think tank serving Financial Services and Technology market leaders. Prior to this, Linda practiced as an international finance, tax, and transactional attorney with the pre-eminent law firms of Shearman and Sterling and Proskauer Rose in New York, and Rifkind & Sterling in Beverly Hills. In the early 1980s, she helped to launch Shearman & Sterling’s Global Project Finance Practice, the first of its kind, and closed over $2 billion in transactions.

Linda’s consulting clients have included: Accenture, American Express, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Dow Jones, IBM, JP Morgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, Nikko Securities Co. Intl., Reuters, State Street Bank, Thomson Financial, Tibco Software, and Unisys Corporation.

Ms. Lowson holds a J.D. Degree with International Law Specialization from Cornell Law School, and an LL.M. (Masters) Degree in Taxation from New York University Law School.
