Biography of Lawrence Cunningham

Professor Cunningham has written numerous books and dozens of articles on accounting, business, finance, investing, and related policy matters, including most recently an internationally-acclaimed collection of Warren Buffett's letters to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders, The Essays of Warren Buffett: Lessons for Corporate America, and the widely-used textbook Introductory Accounting and Finance for Lawyers.

He is a regular contributor to Aspen Law & Business and has also written articles on the professional responsibility of lawyers, the law of contracts, and theories of interpretation, and is an editor of the renowned treatise Corbin on Contracts. His forthcoming book is tentatively entitled Business Analysis for Intelligent Investors. Professor Cunningham has taught and lectured widely. He has held appointments in the US at The George Washington University, Fordham University and St. John's University and abroad at Central European University (Budapest), Hebrew University (Jerusalem) and Oxford University.

He is currently Director of the Independence Standards Board's Task Force on Alternative Practice Structures of Auditors and a Member of the Securities Regulation Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Professor Cunningham has been featured in Forbes, Money and on CNN and The Motley Fool Radio Show. He has been a guest on The News Hour with Jim Lehrer and has appeared on or been quoted in scores of other broadcast and print media.
