Biography of Lauren Daisy Lewellyn

Every woman should have the power to reach the pinnacle of their own personal style, so whom better to give them a boost than Lauren “Daisy” Lewellyn, the queen of “effortless chic”. 

Whether tracking trends for some of the top high fashion publications including Glamour and In Style, or sharing her style and beauty expertise on morning shows such as The View and Good Morning America, Daisy continues to play a significant role in the way women from all walks of life, style themselves. “It doesn’t take a million dollar budget and a glam squad to look your best, she says.  “It’s all about understanding figure flattery and knowing what trends work for you.” 

With her “fashion runway to fashion reality” philosophy, Daisy began her career while working with some of the most noted names in fashion editorial.  As she covered In Style Magazine’s entire accessories market—from luxury brands to cheap finds—Lewellyn was called on to contribute to the magazine’s supplement editions, In Style Makeover and In Style Weddings. 

Soon after, she moved on to Glamour, where her multifaceted knowledge of fashion, lifestyle, and beauty stood out.  Along with maintaining close relationships with countless designers, answering reader Q&A, and shopping the market for the latest fashion and accessories for every season, Daisy tracked down and selected some of the greatest fashion must-haves featured in the critically acclaimed book, Glamour’s Big Book of Dos and Don’ts.

Because of her extensive knowledge of style and her camera friendly personality, Daisy was chosen to offer fashion tips on segments for every major television morning show, while working under Glamour’s Fashion Editor at Large, Suze Yalof Schwartz.  Keeping in mind the fashion needs and wants of a diverse group of women, Daisy styled, wrote, and conceptualized various segments including, “Flattering Swimwear for all Body Types”, “Celebrity Looks for Less”, and “How to Dress Ten Pounds Thinner” for The Today Show, Good Day New York, Fox 5 News, and the CBS Early Show.  “It’s extremely important to understand how to dress a woman so that she feels comfortable, stylish, and shops within her budget,” she explains. 

Later, Daisy landed the role of Accessories Editor for Essence magazine.  Through her refreshing, fashion-forward flair, she brought to the magazine a higher caliber of accessories and fine jewelry designers including, Tiffany and Lorraine Schwartz.  Her innovative vision for Essence’s new fashion direction afforded her the ability to take on multiple projects.  Along with tracking the accessories market, she did everything from style photo shoots featuring mega celebrities such as Beyonce and Janet Jackson, to hosting segments and in-store events for Walmart, where she helped to bring in younger and hipper consumers to support the company’s new brand of clothing.

Early on in her career, she completed an apprenticeship with the world-renowned celebrity wedding planner, Preston Bailey.  After assisting him on a multimillion dollar New York City wedding, Daisy has since been inspired to use her creative finesse in the lifestyle and event planning arena.  As a recent contestant on The Learning Channel’s new reality series, Dinner Takes All, Daisy wowed the country after planning a memorable pink and green “Summer in the City” fete.  Highlights from the soiree include a fashion photo shoot on her iconic pink Hello Kitty bike, a vintage lemonade stand, and a kitschy candy bar. 

With her sparkling personality decked out in her signature look of vintage dresses and mile high Christian Louboutins, it’s no wonder that she’s been featured and quoted in the New York Times style section, Style.com, and WWD.  Recently, she was featured in Essence Magazine co-hosting a swanky Upper West Side cocktail party with celebrity chef, Marcus Samuelson.

As Daisy stays focused on her mission of “pulling out everyone’s inner celebrity”, you may currently find her working as a Wardrobe Stylist for Alicia Keys on an upcoming film; Freelance Fashion Market Editor for Marie Clare; Contributing Style Editor for Ambermag.com; and guest judge on BET’s new reality series, “My Model Looks Better than Your Model.”  She also shares her industry knowledge as a commentator for various fashion panels and as an instructor for The Learning Annex, where she teaches classes on working in fashion editorial, and getting press and celebrity exposure for products and brands.
