Josh Dorfman

Josh Dorfman is an author, television producer and host, entrepreneur, and spokesperson who has dedicated his career to showcasing the most innovative environmental solutions available and communicating a green message that attracts everyday Americans to embrace environmental action. Josh is executive producer and host of The Lazy Environmentalist television series on Sundance Channel. He is the author of The Lazy Environmentalist on a Budget: Save Money. Save Time. Save The Planet (April 2009) and The Lazy Environmentalist: Your Guide To Easy, Stylish, Green Living (April, 2007), which Dwell Magazine called “a guide to going green without resorting to Birkenstocks and brown rice casserole.”
 
Josh first created The Lazy Environmentalist concept in a blog entry in 2005. Several months later he developed The Lazy Environmentalist into an internet-based radio show which he produced and hosted. In 2006, Josh began hosting the show on Sirius Satellite Radio where it became the only live, daily national radio show in the U.S. focused exclusively on environmental topics.
 
Josh is also founder and CEO of Vivavi, a provider of modern design, eco-friendly furniture and furnishings. His work as CEO has been lauded widely in the media; Inc. Magazine named Vivavi one of the top 50 businesses driving today’s green revolution.
 
As an advocate for positive environmental change, Josh is the spokesperson for Brita’s FilterForGood campaign to help reduce plastic bottled water waste and for Green Works, Clorox’s line of natural cleaning products. He is a member of the Wolf Trap Foundation’s National Advisory Council for the Arts and the Environment and has served on Newsweek Magazine’s Global Environment and Leadership Advisory Committee.

As a green lifestyle expert, Josh has appeared on The Martha Stewart Show, The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch, Fox & Friends and numerous other television shows and networks. Josh is an engaging keynote speaker, showcasing cutting-edge green solutions and providing audiences with an effective framework for communicating environmental messages. He has spoken at corporations such as Google, Volkswagen, Clorox, MTV Networks, Liz Claiborne, Pepsico, and Bristol Myers Squibb. He has presented at the Aspen Institute and the World Science Festival as well as institutions such as the Mendoza College of Business at Notre Dame University, Thunderbird, the School of Global Management, and the George Washington University. He has also keynoted industry events such as the Green + Design conference in Atlanta and Opportunity Green conference in Los Angeles.   
 
Josh holds an MBA from Thunderbird, The School of Global Management, and a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania. His views on the strategies required to move societies toward environmental action are informed by his international experience. Josh has worked for the Economist Intelligence Unit in Hong Kong, Delphi Automotive Systems in France, and Kryptonite Bike Locks in China which was where he had his first environmental epiphany. In 1996, while traveling around China selling bicycle locks, Josh recognized that this hugely populated country of a billion cyclists would one day develop into a nation of a billion car drivers, causing potentially unprecedented stress on the local and global environment. How all nations enable their populations to raise their living standards while bringing their lifestyles into balance with nature is a vital challenge for the 21st century and what Josh’s ventures strive to address.
