Detailed Biography of John Izzo
|
|
John Izzo, is the founder of Izzo Consulting Inc. and well known in leadership circles a respected authority and trainer on creative leadership, engagement, performance, retention and corporate culture. He is one of North America's most sought after keynote speakers and was named by Incentive Magazine as one of the people most likely to become "The Next Tom Peters".
His newest book "Values-Shift: The New Work Ethic and What it Means for Business" dentifies six major shifts in terms of what people expect from work and provides strategies for attracting and retaining North America's talent. His work has been featured on ABC World News, CNN, Newsday, Bloomberg and numerous international print media including INC. Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, Dividends Magazine, Profit Magazine and The LA Times, the Washington Post, and Maclean's Magazine.
Dr. Izzo academic credits include dual masters degrees in Theology and Organizational Psychology from McCormick Seminary and the University of Chicago respectively. Dr. Izzo obtained his Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from Kent State University.
Over the past two decades, John Izzo's work has reached over a million people across the globe, influenced thousands of leaders and has spoken to hundreds of organizations including: IBM, Sun Microsystems, Providence Health System, Canadian Though raised in New York, John now finds his home in the mountains of Vancouver, British Columbia.
John's philosophy on speaking and creating impact:
Inspire: As a speaker it is imperative that we inspire the audience so see what is achievable
Inform: People will not change or facilitate change in themselves or in an organization if they aren't informed and given choices
Involve: To teach and create change people have to feel like they are part of the process. They need to know there are things that they can do and be involved in.
Influence: Being the seed spreader! Above all, this is the goal! Creating influence is ultimately what a speaker's job is. A speaker/expert has knowledge that can influence changes in people, places and processes. If this is accomplished it's a success for us and for you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John Izzo has the combination that every meeting planner wants:
dynamic presentation skills
years and years and years of speaking experience
he does his homework prior to presenting
practical ideas
insights from his consulting with over 500 organizations
He works hard at getting to the real people issues within an organization and tailors his message to you. He is powerful and practical, offering memorable tools to help people and organizations achieve their goals. You can expect John to speak with several of your people prior to his presentation. You can expect his office staff to assist you with every detail of your event, and most importantly, you can expect him to deliver an inspiring address that will get your people thinking, laughing and taking positive action in the workplace.
One of John Izzo's goals is to attend as much of your conference as possible and to see other speakers present. Creating synergy between speakers is key to any great conference. He won't show up 10 minutes before he speaks and he won't leave moments after he is finished. He doesn't have a huge list of "must haves" and "won't dos". He doesn't expect limos, caviar and a palace, just good meals, a hotel that has an exercise facility and a non-smoking room.
Where to Put Him!
We are asked this regularly. If John Izzo opens your conference you can bet people will be inspired, motivated and given useful tools to use throughout the rest of the conference. If John Izzo closes your conference you can count on him to incorporate some major points from previous speakers into his speech in a manner that motivates and inspires people to implement the things they have learned. He sends them off on a high note, thinking and planning all the way home. We have had conferences that have used him to open and then had him close as well. Even we were skeptics until we saw the results. Either way, Dr. Izzo is appropriate and quite suited to being either an opening or closing keynote speaker.
