Biography of Jill Goodacre

Raised in the Rockies, Jill developed a love for modeling in high school and quickly made headway in the industry following graduation.

Her big breakthrough came in the mid-'80s when Victoria's Secret hired her. Thanks to her poise and gorgeous face (and body), Jill quickly rose up the modeling ranks of the lingerie company. Soon, she was the VS girl and is often recognized as the original Victoria's Secret supermodel. During her run at the top, Goodacre could be seen in magazines like Cosmopolitan, Self, Harper's Bazaar, YM and Sassy. She was the talk of the modeling world and was also a paparazzi favorite.In the latter years of the 1980s, Jill was romantically linked with tennis star Yannick Noah -- at one point, headlines claimed they were even engaged. However, this relationship fizzled as quickly as it had begun.

Proving she was more than just a model, Goodacre even acted in the film Odd Jobs, which also featured a pre-Mad About You Paul Reiser.However, the biggest news from Jill came in 1994, when, after a lengthy relationship, it was announced she would be marrying popular crooner/actor Harry Connick Jr. After the nuptials, Goodacre promptly left modeling and Victoria's Secret behind.
Fortunately, though, she was not completely out of the spotlight. In a memorable episode of Friends in 1994, Jill, playing herself, gets trapped with Chandler (Matthew Perry) in an ATM vestibule.That same year, she landed a role in the drama Ladybird, Ladybird. After helping set-up and organize her husband's New York Big Band Concert, Goodacre was also credited as being a director, at least for this one time.

After Jill, who is sometimes credited as Jill Goodacre-Connick, gave birth to first child Georgia Tatom in 1996, she returned to television. First, she worked in the studio, lending her voice to an episode of the mature cartoon Duckman. Then, in 1997, Goodacre played Rose in the four-episode miniseries The Uninvited.To this day, Jill is recognized as one of the pioneers of lingerie modeling. Her auburn hair and charm brought her to the forefront of the industry and set the standard for future Victoria's Secret babes like Laetitia Casta, Tyra Banks and Veronica Varekova. Goodacre lives quite comfortably with hubby Connick Jr., and their three children, Georgia, Sara Kate and Charlotte.
