Detailed Biography of Jenna Elfman
|
|
She can be seen in ABC's comedy series Dharma and Greg. In this romantic comedy about a misfit couple, Jenna portrays 'Dharma' who was raised by hippie parents and married to 'Greg' (Thomas Gibson), her new, uptight lawyer husband. Elfman has been nominated three times for an Emmy Award and won a Golden Globe Award in the second season for her exceptional performance.
Elfman stars in Warner Bros.' Looney Tunes: Back in Action alongside Brendan Fraser, Steve Martin & Heather Locklear. The film, directed by Joe Dante, was released on Nov 14, 2003.
She was seen starring in Newline's film, Town & Country opposite Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton, Garry Shandling and Goldie Hawn. In the film she depicts a young woman who has a brief affair with Warren Beatty's character.
She can also be seen in Disney's romantic-comedy Keeping the Faith opposite Ben Stiller and Edward Norton. Elfman is the object of both men's affection - one who is a priest and the other one who is a rabbi. The film marks Edward Norton's directorial debut.
In Ron Howard's EDtv, Elfman starred opposite Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Elfman portrays 'Shari,' the girlfriend of 'Ed,' a "regular" guy who has agreed to have his life videotaped 24 hours a day to be broadcast to the entire country.
In addition to her film and television work, Elfman received rave reviews for her portrayal of 'She' in the two-person one-act play, Visions and Lovers: Variations on a Theme opposite Miguel Ferrer. The play showed at the Skylight Theatre in Los Angeles.
Elfman marked her first starring feature role in Touchstone's comedy Krippendorf's Tribe opposite Richard Dreyfuss and Lily Tomlin. The film was directed by Todd Holland. She was also seen in George Armitage's Grosse Pointe Blank with John Cusack and Minnie Driver.
Elfman's television credits include the ABC sitcom Townies and guest appearances on Roseanne, Murder One, NYPD Blue and Almost Perfect. In 1996, she played a drug counselor in the critically acclaimed made-for-television movie, Her Last Chance with Patti LuPone and Kellie Martin.
A native of Los Angeles, Jenna began her career in commercials, landing roles in dozens of national television ads for a variety of well-known companies.
Among her many other talents, Jenna is a classically trained ballerina. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband. They have been together since 1991.
