Biography of Jeff Thompson

Jeff took home two of the four top honors at the 2004 DisneyHand Teacher Awards. Out of 150,000 nominees, Thompson was selected by a distinguished committee as the Outstanding Elementary School Teacher, and was ultimately chosen by his peers as the 2004 DisneyHand Teacher Awards Teacher of the Year. He has been featured on national television as well as in national newspaper, parenting magazines and professional journals.
After surviving cancer, Jeff could no longer ignore his call to teaching. Jeff left the business world for the classroom in order to make a difference in the lives of America's youth. Jeff’s goal is to shift the Early Childhood education paradigm from exposure of learning skills to mastery of reading and writing. Known for his creativity and use of thematic integration, each moment of the school day is purposely designed to support reading and problem solving.

Jeff imparts the joy of teaching and learning to his entire community. He inspires teachers to challenge their own standards and expectations and motivates the parents of his students to join in their child's learning. His passion is developing creative and dynamic learning environments that showcase thematic integration. Jeff believes that setting higher standards for both students and parents in Early Childhood significantly impacts the future academic success of our youth. Jeff also teaches parenting classes and classroom management sessions for educators. Jeff firmly believes that “a teacher affects eternity, you can never tell where your influence stops.”
