Biography of Glenn Pape

Based in San Jose, Glenn’s responsibilities at Ernst & Young include the delivery of services that enable corporations to make the most of their human capital investments and help individuals to achieve their wealth goals through building and managing net worth. Glenn has more than 23 years experience in financial planning.

Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Glenn was a partner and vice president at The Ayco Company, LP, in charge of financial education services and R&D. During his eight years at Ayco, he led the development of Money in Motionsm, an employee financial education program, and participated in communication, retirement and transition programs for employees as well as executive seminar counseling programs.

Prior to joining Ayco in 1988, Glenn was a manager at Arthur Andersen in Chicago, Illinois, where he headed up the office’s retirement planning practice. Glenn’s prior experience was as a financial planner at Continental Illinois National Bank and a trust representative at The Northern Trust Company, both of Chicago.

Glenn’s professional accreditations include a CPA (Illinois) and he is accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS). He is also a CFP® practitioner, a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) and has earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation awarded by the National Speakers Association. Glenn has been quoted in the financial and benefits press, such as Business Week, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. He is co-author of Ernst & Young’s Retirement Planning Guide, and is the 2004 Chair-Elect and Board of Governors member for the Certified Financial Planners Board of Standards.

Glenn is a graduate of the University of Chicago, with a B.A. in Classics. He received a J.D. from the DePaul College of Law, and holds an M.B.A. with concentrations in finance and statistics from the University of Chicago. Glenn is admitted to the bar in Illinois.

Glenn has two daughters, Katie, a recent graduate of the University of Michigan and an artist living in Chicago; and Courtney, who will be starting at UCLA in the fall as a theater student.
