Detailed Biography of Elizabeth Abbott
|
|
She has a doctorate from McGill University in 19th century history. Before moving to Toronto in 1991, she lived in Montreal and Port-au-Prince. She has reported for Reuters, and has written for Equinox, Harrowsmith, The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, The Ottawa Citizen and The Gazette (Montreal). Abbott is a Research Associate at Trinity College, University of Toronto, where she co-teaches a history course and, from 1991 to 2004, was Dean of Women. She is vice-president of the Riverdale Historical Society; volunteers for Tafelmusik; and founded the Trinity College-Mount Sinai Hospital Pet Therapy Programme. She is currently working on her next book project.
