Few people have created more of a positive impact on the day-to-day management of people and companies than Dr. Kenneth Blanchard, who is known around the world simply as "Ken." A prominent, gregarious, sought-after author, speaker, and business consultant, Blanchard is universally characterized by friends, colleagues, and clients as one of the most insightful, powerful, and compassionate men in business today.
Speaking from the heart with warmth and humor, Blanchard has the unique gift to address an audience and communicate with each individual as if they were alone and talking one on one. He is a polished storyteller with a knack for making the seemingly complex easy to understand.
Blanchard's phenomenal bestseller, The One Minute Manager, co-authored with Spencer Johnson, has sold over 17 million copies worldwide in 27 languages, and regularly appears on bestseller lists today - 20 years since it was first released. Having written and co-authored approximately 17 business bestsellers to date, including The Power of Ethical Management with Norman Vincent Peale, Raving Fans and High Five! with co-author, Sheldon Bowles, Blanchard's most recent bestseller, The Secret: What Great Leaders Know - And Do answers the question, "What do I need to do to be a great leader?"
Chairman and Chief Spiritual Officer of The Ken Blanchard Companies - a global leader in workplace learning, employee productivity, leadership, and team effectiveness - Blanchard offers clients solutions to increase their impact as leaders, thus enabling them to achieve strategic objectives and drive organizational results.
He is a trustee emeritus of the Board of Trustees and visiting lecturer at his alma mater, Cornell University and maintains a faculty position in leadership at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Throughout the years, he has received many awards and honors for his contributions in the field of management and leadership including the National Speakers Association's highest award, the Council of Peers Award of Excellence, the Toastmaster International's Golden Gavel Award, and inducted into Training magazine and Lakewood Conference's Human Resource Development (HRD) Hall of Fame, among many others.
A guest on a number of national television programs, including Good Morning America and the Today show, Blanchard has also been featured in Time, People, US News & World Report, and a host of other popular publications. He also writes a biweekly syndicated newspaper column and is contributing editor of Success magazine and Executive Excellence newsletter.
He earned his bachelors degree in government and philosophy from Cornell University, his masters degree in sociology and counseling from Colgate University, and his PhD in educational administration and leadership from Cornell University.
