Dick Flavin, Emmy Award-winning television writer and commentator, has made a serious study of humor as a strategy in politics, in business, and in everyday life. He is one of America's leading speakers and writers - a funny guy with something to say who has enlightened and entertained audiences in thousands of appearances all across America.

Dick Flavin is the author of TIP (According to Tip), a soon to be produced play starring Tony Award winner Ken Howard as the legendary Speaker of the House, Tip O'Neill.

Dick Flavin was the narrator of "The Teammates", an ESPN documentary that was nominated for three 2004 Emmy Awards. His television commentaries have appeared on NBC-TV, on CNN and on WBZ-TV in Boston. He is the winner of seven Emmy Awards for television commentary.

Dick Flavin has performed "Teddy at the Bat", his memorial tribute to the late Ted Williams, before twenty-five thousand people in Boston's Fenway Park, and also at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, and in other cities across the country. The San Francisco Examiner called it a "showstopper" and a "stunning, bravura bit".

Flavin has written columns for USA Today and for the Boston Herald; he has written and performed special material for the Boston Pops and Symphony Orchestras. He has taught courses on the use of humor and satire at Harvard University and Brandeis University.
