Biography of David Faber

Known as “The Brain,” CNBC’s Wall Street correspondent David Faber has broken some of the biggest stories about Wall Street and finance. He leverages 16 years of experience covering mergers and acquisitions, global equity markets and corporate finance to make his daily Faber Report a must-see for business professionals. He can be seen daily on CNBC's Squawk Box, which he founded with fellow CNBC anchors Joe Kernen and Mark Haines, mixing business news with an unscripted and fast-paced exchange of banter as the trading day unfolds on Wall Street. Faber also hosts a quarterly one-hour special titled, Leaders with David Faber, which features candid one-on-one interviews with luminaries in the business world that extends well beyond pure business issues.

Now in his book, The Faber Report, he takes a critical look at Wall Street and corporate America to educate investors on how things really work. In 1997, Faber won the Deadline Club of New York’s Best Broadcast Business Story Award for his news-making report of the now historic buyout of MCI Communications. He was also named to the TJFR business magazine dream team of financial journalists. Faber joined CNBC in 1993 after seven years at Institutional Investor, where he covered corporate finance and global equity markets, and launched Emerging Markets Week-a publication focusing on the world’s developing capital markets.
